Rela Hospital KICKSTARTS COVID VACCINATION DRIVE

~ Dr J Radhakrishnan, Principal Secretary, Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Tamilnadu and Prof. Rela, Chairman, Rela Hospital Inaugurated the COVID Vaccination drive at Rela Hospital. ~

~ The ‘Covishield’ Vaccine will be provided to all frontline workers at Rela Hospital for free of cost. ~

Rela Hospital, a Multi-Speciality Quaternary Care Hospital at Chrompet in Chennai, today launched the COVID vaccination drive against COVID 19 with Covishield vaccine. Dr J Radhakrishnan, Principal Secretary, Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Tamilnadu, and Prof. Mohamed Rela, Chairman & Managing Director at Rela Hospital, formally launched the vaccination drive to all healthcare workers as well as frontline workers at Rela Hospital. The recipients can get vaccinated by using their Government identity cards, health workers can register themselves to avail the vaccine at the hospital.

Speaking on the Occasion, Prof. Mohamed Rela, Chairman & Managing Director, Rela Hospital, said “Vaccination is the only way to control the pandemic completely. The second wave of COVID which is affecting the countries in Europe currently can be prevented in India only by vaccination said, Prof Rela. All People including the people who had recovered from COVID 19 can also take the vaccine. At Rela Hospital, we have treated around 2500 COVID patients in the last 10 months and we are moving to the next step in prevention of COVID 19 by launching a vaccination drive today” added Prof Rela.

I am happy to share here that, I had taken the Covishield vaccine during the trial period in Chennai two months before and I do not have any side effects till now and my antibody level has been on the higher side post-vaccination said, Prof. Mohamed Rela. As a responsible healthcare provider, we feel it is very important to build trust and confidence among the public about the vaccination and to motivate people to get vaccinated to fight against the pandemic said, Prof. Rela.

We will be completing the vaccination drive to all our 1100 health care workers by next week and we are also prepared to provide vaccination to neighbouring health care workers said Dr. Ilankumaran, CEO, Rela Hospital. We are equipped to vaccinate One million population in the next 3 months once the government give a go-ahead for the vaccination to the public added Dr Ilankumaran.
