The team of experts offer Advanced Laparoscopy and Thoracoscopy surgical techniques for even neonates with the latest minimally invasive surgical systems available.

A multidisciplinary team approach is followed for fetal diagnosis and counseling of antenatally detected correctable surgical anomalies to ensure the best outcomes, working closely with Obstetricians, Neonatologists, and Fetal medicine experts.

Antenatal Diagnosis & Counseling

Detection of congenital anomalies on Antenatal Ultrasonography in Target Scans can be stressful for the expectant parents. Many such conditions are correctable and can be successfully dealt with in the postnatal period. Working together with a team of experts in Fetal Medicine, Obstetrics, Neonatology we offer counseling regarding the nature of these conditions and the expected outcomes and management of them in the postnatal period. 

Some of the common antenatally detected anomalies include. Pelviecatasis/Hydronephrosis, Lower urinary tract obstruction, Diaphragmatic Hernia(CDH), Pulmonary Airway Malformation( CPAM/CCAM), Oesophageal Atresia( TEF/OA), Intestinal Atresia/Obstruction, Intra-abdominal Cysts etc.

Daycare Surgery

Many surgical procedures that we perform on children can be safely done as a daycare/short stay procedure, minimizing the hospital stay and ensuring safe return of the child to the home environment faster. 

The Paediatric Daycare Surgery Unit is dedicated to the care of children needing short stay procedures. Some examples of surgeries done as day care are: circumcision, inguinal herniotomy, hydrocoele- sac ligation, tongue tie release, orchidopexy, excision of soft tissue swellings -dermoid, sebaceous cysts, abscess- incision & drainage, lymph node biopsy, rectal polypectomy, placement of implantable central venous access- Hickman lines/ Chemoport insertion etc.
