Brief Profile

Dr. Ashok S. Gavaskar brings years of clinical experience in orthopaedics, trauma care, and joint replacement surgery, with advanced expertise in complex peri-articular trauma, pelviacetabular reconstruction, computer-assisted and robotic joint replacements, and revision arthroplasty. He is renowned for performing minimally invasive outpatient hip and knee replacements and managing failed fracture fixations with precision and innovation.

He completed his MBBS from Madras Medical College in 2003 and MS in Orthopaedics from Madurai Medical College in 2007 under the TamilNadu Dr. MGR Medical University. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS, Glasgow) and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). His academic accomplishments are backed by numerous international fellowships and prestigious awards, including the Times Excellence in Orthopaedics Award (2021) and the Young Ambassador Award from the Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association.

Dr. Gavaskar holds esteemed positions in the global orthopaedic community, including member of the AO Trauma Technical Commission – Asia Pacific, Chairman of the APOA Young Surgeons Committee, and Executive Committee Member of SICOT – Indian Chapter. He also contributes extensively to academic literature and serves on editorial boards of international journals such as JAAOS, IJO, and EJOST.
