Resilient Strides

In 2009, Mr. Umapathy from Chromepet experienced a fall while getting down from a bus. He had successfully undergone a hip replacement for a left hip joint fracture and had healed well. Recently, the pain had become intolerable despite medication, prompting admission for further evaluation. Seeking consultation with Dr. Ashok S. Gavaskar, Clinical Lead in Orthopaedics, he reported a vague pain in his left hip.

Subsequent ultrasound scans revealed an infection in his hip joint, leading to a crucial 6-hour surgery. Following recovery from the infection, Mr. Umapathy underwent a re-operation a month later. Today, he is free from pain and infection, experiencing excellent functionality in his hips. He is grateful for the successful outcome and expresses his sincere thanks to Dr. Ashok S. Gavaskar for restoring his ability to walk normally.
