A Sri Lankan’s tale of overcoming a life threatening brain tumor.

38 year old, Noorul Haseena from Atulugama, Sri Lanka, developed a headache and started losing her vision gradually. Upon visiting the doctor and through CT and MRI scan, they found out that she had a tumor in her brain. The women got into alternative sources of treatment, until the headache got worse leading to vomiting and loss of vision.

She was then referred to Rela Hospital, where she consulted with Dr M. Anbuselvam, Senior Consultant, Neuroscience and Neurosurgery. The doctor repeated the MRI scan to find out a large lesion in her frontal lobe of the brain. Post diagnosis, it proved to be a tuberculous lesion and she was suggested with further medical treatment.

Noorul Haseena was discharged in three days with medications to follow for one year. Her husband explains how she is back to normal and expresses his gratitude to the expert team of doctors and the hospital management for treating his wife.
