Geeta Awasthi’s son, Siwansh Awasthi, from Nepal was undergoing liver problems from when he was one and a half years old. His stomach was bloated and filled with fluid and his skin was pale. He was taken to a government hospital in Nepal where they couldn’t diagnose the exact condition. They were then suggested to be taken to Rela Hospital, Chennai.

The child was thoroughly examined by Dr. Jagadeesh Menon VR, Consultant, Paediatric Hepatology. Upon examining his symptoms and taking a few tests, the doctor confirmed that it was a liver failure and a liver transplantation was the only survival option.

From the sixth day of their visit, the kid underwent liver transplantation by the expert team of doctors and was also discharged within two weeks from the surgery without further complications.

Baby Siwansh is now three years old and is in a much healthier condition as his development and liver function looks normal. The mother was happy to see her child walk and run normally like other children. She expressed her gratitude to all the doctors and staff at the hospital. We wish the child, a good and healthy life in the future.
