Brief Profile

Dr. Nithish Mukunthan completed his MBBS from Sri Lakshmi Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences, Pondicherry, and earned his MD in Anesthesiology from Manakula Vinayagar Medical College, where he was awarded the Gold Medal for academic excellence. 

He went on to complete the IDCCM at Apollo Hospitals, Chennai, and his DrNB in Critical Care Medicine from Narayana Hrudayalaya, Bangalore. He is currently awaiting Part 2 of the prestigious EDIC certification from ESICM, Europe.

He has authored several peer-reviewed publications and co-authored chapters, receiving multiple awards for academic contributions, including the Best Original Article 2nd Prize (2016). He has also been an invited speaker at ISCCM meets in Madurai and neighboring towns, served as faculty for “Preethi Heart Update” (Nov 2019) and “Preethi Anesthesia Update” (Feb 2020), and participated in national conferences such as Criticare Care 2020.

Dr. Nithish is a Consultant in Intensive Care at Dr. Rela Institute & Medical Centre (RIMC), Chennai, with over six years of experience in critical care medicine. Having trained under leading intensivists, he brings sound clinical judgment and a calm, methodical approach to managing acutely ill patients. He is actively involved in the day-to-day care of patients with complex medical conditions, regularly performing advanced ICU procedures and contributing to the smooth functioning of the unit. His clinical focus lies in delivering timely, evidence-based care across a wide range of critical scenarios.
