Dr. Benhur Joel Shadrach (Consultant – Interventional Pulmonology, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine Pulmonology Medicine) explains the working of an EBUS. EBUS is a minimally invasive procedure that is used to diagnose lung disorders.

A Fuji EBUS scope comprises an outer scope and an ultrasound processor. With the help of the ultrasound processor, we can sample the nodes on the screen directly. A needle is passed through the working channel for the biopsy. With the help of this, we take a sample of a lesion from the patient which is then shared with the pathologist, who provides an on-table diagnosis.
