Dr. Ramanan Rajagopal is the Clinical Lead in Neuroanaesthesia and Intensive Care, with over sixteen years of experience in managing complex neurosurgical cases and critically ill neurological patients.

Trained extensively in neuroanaesthesia, neurocritical care, and neurorehabilitation, he specializes in perioperative management for brain, spine, and epilepsy surgeries, as well as advanced neurocritical care involving multimodality monitoring and mechanical ventilation.

As a clinical lead, Dr. Ramanan has pioneered structured ICU protocols for intracranial pressure reduction, glycemic control in neurocritical care, and vasospasm management in subarachnoid haemorrhage. He has been instrumental in simulation-based training initiatives such as NEMS (Neuro Emergency Management Simulation), Code Stroke, and workshops on transcranial Doppler, ABG interpretation, and ventilator management.

His areas of interest include brain health promotion, stroke care, transcranial Doppler, and maintenance of the organ donor, alongside a special focus on Neurorehabilitation and NeuroPalliative Care. A passionate academician and mentor, he integrates neuroscience, psychology, and holistic health into both clinical practice and medical education.
