Brief Profile

Dr. Perungo.T is a consultant Bariatric and Laparoscopic and Gastrointestinal surgeon. He began his career as an Assistant Professor and went on to become Assistant Surgeon. Owing to his special interest in Surgical gastroenterology, he took up a One year Fellowship in Bariatric & Metabolic surgery.

Honors Awards

  • Dr. Perungo was awarded the Sundaram Best Paper Award in A.S.I in the State conference in 2009.
  • He won Best e-poster in the section ‘Stomach and Small intestine’ in IASGCON 2015, October, Pune.
  • He won Second prize in Zonal level G.I surgery Torrent Young Scholar Award, Chennai, December 2015.
  • He won Third prize in National level G.I surgery Torrent Young Scholar Award, Ahmedabad, February 2016.

Achievement

  • Pioneered and excelled in a novel LAPROSE BARIATRIC SURGERY ( WEEKEND BARIATRIC SURGERY) which is a minimally invasive, pain free, short stay, Tailor made , safe and fast track procedure.
  • Pioneer in introducing the novel MIDAS therapy and terminology for treating type 2 diabetes patients.
  • Invited speaker on the topic of Bariatric and Metabolic surgery at various state level, national and international conferences.
