COVID-19 is a respiratory condition. It is a novel viral infection with a varied clinical presentation. It’s a prothrombotic state capable of blocking the blood vessels in the body, leading to stroke, pulmonary embolism, ischemic limb, etc.

Symptoms of COVID-19

COVID-19 presents different symptoms in different people. Symptoms begin 2-14 days after contact with infected people. The most common symptoms that are present in nearly everyone include fever, fatigue, dry cough, loss of appetite, body aches, and shortness of breath. In addition to these common symptoms, some people have additional symptoms.

While COVID-19 infects nearly everyone, the elderly, the very young children, and people with co-morbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, or cardiovascular disease are at a higher risk of developing the severe disease. If you are in the high-risk group, you should be more vigilant and follow hand hygiene, social distancing, wear a mask, and isolate yourself to reduce the risk of infection to a minimum.
